Essential Functions

  • Provide technical support for SMT manufacturing operations

  • Determine line configurations for new products

  • Establish effective and efficient manufacturing processes

  • Review products and recommend design/process enhancements

  • Monitor and improve screen print, reflow, water wash, and flow solder processes

  • Develop and update work instructions and manufacturing methods

  • Work with vendors on product specifications, equipment/material purchases, and quality standards

  • Determine workforce utilization and space requirements

  • Design equipment and workspace layouts for safety, efficiency, and ergonomics

  • Analyze and resolve work problems; assist workers in problem-solving

  • Install, layout, and adjust special production equipment and tooling

  • Provide technical leadership as needed

Other Functions

  • Assist in duties outside normal responsibilities to meet production needs

  • Attend meetings to support organizational activities

  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet departmental and corporate goals

Supervision

  • Reports to Manager or Director of assigned department

  • May receive mentoring from senior engineers

  • No supervisory responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, equivalent work experience, or enrolled in degree program

  • 6 months to 1 year of related work experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and manufacturing systems

  • Programming skills a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering degree

  • Experience in contract manufacturing

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, use hands/fingers, talk, hear, and see

  • Occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach

  • Work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment requiring accuracy

  • Move throughout office and production areas as needed
