Forbes Health is looking for a staff writer with digital content creation, writing, short-form video and reporting experience.
Responsibilities We want to guide our readers to make smart, informed health decisions through best-ofs, product reviews, engaging content, both on- and off-site, and data-driven journalism. If you’re passionate about service journalism and you're looking for challenges and opportunities similar to those of a startup, with the benefits of a seasoned and successful company, then read on:
- Write helpful, accurate and engaging how-tos, roundups, best-ofs, product reviews and product comparisons
- Create engaging video content as part of your day-to-day reporting process
- Consistently write and publish high-performing content that drives traffic and engagement, and update stories with timely information as needed
- Brainstorm and generate story and video ideas and coordinate with your editors and producers to bring them to life
- Leverage data and SEO best practices when writing and reporting
- Ideate with the methodology and data teams to create reader-first ways to rate and rank related products and services for best-ofs
- Represent Forbes Health as a subject matter expert for PR requests
- Create cross-platform content across Forbes Health’s channels, such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, YouTube and Shorts, and more
- Conduct first-hand testing on health-related products, and exhibit general health knowledge for conducting lab-based studies and testing
Requirements - Previous experience in health journalism
- 2-4 years of experience in online journalism, video-creation and writing-focused roles
- Portfolio of published work demonstrating strong writing, reporting and/or video creation skills
- Experience filming and editing video content, writing captions and optimizing for engagement across platforms
- Experience with SEO best practices preferred
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Nimble and open to quick changes in strategy
- Ability to work in a startup environment
