Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid only) Type: Full-Time Studio Size: Small, collaborative indie team Project: Mutant Forge a PvP Mobile Strategy Game (iOS & Android) Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and self-driven Senior Unity Mobile Game Developer to join our small but mighty team in Seattle. You will play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of Mutant Forge, our inaugural real-time PvP mobile strategy game, contributing to both core gameplay systems and live ops tooling. As a senior member of the team, you'll be deeply involved in technical decision-making, mentoring, and shaping the future of the project alongside artists, designers, and other engineers. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, optimize, and maintain high-quality Unity C# gameplay systems for a competitive PvP mobile experience Collaborate with game designers to prototype and iterate on strategy-based mechanics, unit interactions, and game balance Build and refine user interfaces, animations, VFX, and input systems tailored for mobile devices Work closely with backend developers on all aspects of the game, including matchmaking, data synchronization, and real-time battles Conduct code reviews, enforce clean architecture practices, and contribute to a robust technical roadmap Integrate 3rd-party SDKs (e.g., Ads, Analytics, In-App Purchases, Push Notifications, Firebase, Photon) Monitor and address performance, memory, and device compatibility issues across a wide range of mobile hardware Support live operations, hotfixes, and client update cycles Mentor junior developers and help grow a high-performance engineering culture Required Qualifications: 5+ years of professional Unity experience, with at least 2 shipped mobile titles (PvP or strategy genre preferred) Strong proficiency in C#, Unity engine architecture, and mobile performance optimization Experience with real-time multiplayer gameplay and client-server synchronization models Deep understanding of mobile development lifecycles (iOS and Android), including app store submission and patching Familiarity with a wide range of C#/Unity features including addressables, asset bundles, reflection, async/await, and scriptable object design patterns Comfortable working in git, agile environments, and collaborative tools like Trello, Notion, and Slack A passion for games—especially strategy, tactics, or competitive multiplayer formats Bonus Points For: Experience with backend-as-a-service platforms (PlayFab, Photon, Nakama, or custom solutions) Full stack familiarity and comfort with using backend/analytics tools like custom dashboards, Firebase, Mixpanel Shader programming (HLSL) or VFX graph familiarity Contributions to published tools, plugins, or open-source Unity projects Strong interest in player retention, matchmaking systems, and live ops strategy UI/UX polish and animation systems experience on mobile A gamer’s mindset and an indie studio spirit—creative, scrappy, and adaptable What We Offer: Competitive salary and profit-sharing opportunities Flexible hours and remote-friendly culture Small, tight-knit team with creative freedom and ownership The chance to make a big impact on a unique PvP strategy game in a growth phase Opportunities to grow into leadership or technical director roles Reflection Games is a new well funded company, launched by the founders of Big Fish Games and Self Aware Games.
