As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to join our team and lead the charge in creating meaningful, accessible, and elegant user experiences across our platforms.
About the Role:
As a Senior UI/UX Designer at TalkingParents, youll be instrumental in shaping the experience of our web, iOS, and Android applications. Youll blend research, interaction design, and visual craft to solve real user problems. You will guide product teams, mentor designers, and ensure that our design decisions align with user needs and company goals. This is a senior-level, hands-on role that requires deep design expertise, collaborative leadership, and a passion for improving lives through thoughtful digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of intuitive, accessible, and meaningful user experiences across web, iOS, and Android platforms, grounded in deep understanding of user needs and behaviors.
- Conduct and synthesize user research, usability testing, and customer feedback to identify pain points, guide design decisions, and continuously improve the experience.
- Clearly articulate design rationale, user insights, and experience trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring shared understanding and alignment.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, support teams, and marketing to ensure user needs are embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
- Work closely with other UI/UX designers to co-create product flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs that are consistent, scalable, and aligned with business priorities.
- Provide thoughtful, constructive feedback in design critiques and peer reviews, contributing to team growth and a shared design language.
- Contribute to the evolution and maintenance of the design system and style guides, ensuring cohesion across all product surfaces and platforms.
- Lead platform-wide consistency efforts through periodic design audits and coordination with peers.
- Keep design tasks, documentation, and research findings up to date in shared tools (e.g., Figma, ClickUp) to support visibility and accountability across development teams.
- Ensure design priorities and progress are clearly communicated to stakeholders, fostering alignment across teams and departments.
- Support the development of fellow designers by sharing expertise, offering guidance, and modeling high standards of craft and collaboration.
- Assist with onboarding and integration of new design team members, reinforcing a culture of learning, support, and curiosity.
- Help scope and prioritize design efforts by balancing user impact, business goals, and technical feasibility.
- Advocate for iterative delivery and experimentation, ensuring user feedback informs future iterations and strategic design direction.
Requirements:
- Extensive UX/UI Experience: 7+ years of experience designing digital products across web and mobile platforms, with a strong portfolio showcasing exceptional UX, visual design, and interaction design.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Proven experience mentoring designers, reviewing work constructively, and leading by example within a UX team or design chapter.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and data scientists.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present design ideas and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Cross-Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of UX patterns and constraints across iOS, Android, and responsive web platforms, with experience in delivering cohesive experiences across them.
- Design System Management: Experience building, maintaining, and scaling design systems with a focus on consistency, reusability, and collaboration with engineering.
- Customer-Centered Mindset: Expertise in translating user insights, feedback, and analytics into meaningful product improvements and elegant design solutions.
- Strategic Thinking: Comfortable working at both the conceptual and detailed design levels, with the ability to connect design decisions to business outcomes and roadmap priorities.
- Agile Environment Experience: Familiarity with Agile workflows, including working in sprints, contributing to refinement sessions, and partnering with PMs and engineers in a fast-paced delivery environment.
- Proficiency in Design Tools: Advanced proficiency in Figma and other design and prototyping tools; understanding of handoff practices to engineering.
- Inclusive Design: Experience designing inclusive products, including multi-language and accessible design use cases.
- Critical Thinking & Prioritization: Ability to focus on high-impact efforts, avoid over-engineering, and make smart trade-offs when balancing timelines with design quality, business goals, and user needs.
- Continuous Learning: Demonstrated commitment to evolving with design trends, user behavior insights, and emerging design technologies.
