Senior Quality Scientist

Houston, TX

Our client, a global manufacturer of nutraceuticals, is hiring a Senior Quality Scientist to ensure the company has relevant competence in organic and analytical chemistry, which will enable the company to continuously build understanding of its natural raw materials as well as products.

Responsibilities:

• Supports customers and organization with technical product information and maintains a library of relevant information.
• Ensures that product chemistry as well as analytical chemistry is appropriately applied in product related projects, such as product and process improvement processes, new product development, and regulatory processes (for existing and new markets).
• Develops and has responsibility for all technical product documentation within Human Health & Ingredients, related to the manufacturing site.
• Ensures all relevant documentation is maintained and made available to the organization.
• Responsible for external customer requests and follow-up.
• Provides insight into product composition and chemistry, from raw material to end consumer.
• Supports that current production, production improvements, changes, new products and projects have the necessary insight into product and process chemistry.
• Provides regulatory processes with relevant competence in chemistry and analytics.
• Supports analytical method development and qualification in new markets.
• Supports the sales organization and customers with product and analytical insight.
• Drives the process of increasing understanding of raw material, growth conditions, key factors for composition and quality.
• Acts as a link and facilitator between operations, production, analytical and Science team.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or higher education within relevant areas such as: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Pharma.
• Relevant work experience from the food, pharmaceutical or dietary supplement industry.
