Department/Position: RN-Med/Surg-Adults & Peds

Overview:

We are a high-energy, fast-paced 30 bed Medical/Surgical/Adult & Pediatric unit that cares for medical and post-operative patients. These patients are primarily adults 18 years and older. However, we also care for approximately 1-2 pediatric patients per month. Our patient population consists of but not limited to post-op knees, hips, shoulders, colon resections, bariatric surgery, sepsis, pancreatitis, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and stable pneumothorax. Our nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6 with the assistance of Patient Care Associates. We have an exceptional unit highlighted by coworkers with knowledge, dedication, teamwork, empathy, and compassion .

Qualifications:

• Education : Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
• Licensure : Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Physical requirements/demands : Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
• Certifications :

• BLS (Basic Life Support) or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
• Other unit specific certifications as required or or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
