📦 Purchasing Manager – Steel Fabrication

📍 Atlanta, GA

💼 Full-time | Office-based

💡We're seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead steel operations for our fabrication projects in Atlanta, GA . In this office-based role, you'll manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and delivery terms, monitor market trends, and ensure timely material flow to meet production schedules

✅What You’ll Be Doing

• Build and manage strong supplier relationships with steel mills, processors, and stockholders
• Negotiate best pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
• Monitor steel market trends and material forecasts to drive procurement strategy
• Ensure timely delivery of material to fabrication shop and job sites
• Track and manage purchase orders, inventory levels, and shipping schedules
• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and the shop floor to align material needs with production timelines
• Ensure compliance with company standards, budget targets, and contractual requirements
• Troubleshoot supply chain delays and implement proactive solutions

🎯What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement within structural or industrial steel
• Deep knowledge of steel sections, plate, and mill lead times
• Ability to read fabrication schedules and shop drawings (a bonus)
• Strong negotiation, communication, and planning skills
• ERP or procurement system experience preferred (e.g. STRUMIS, Tekla EPM, Viewpoint, etc.)
