Job Description: The Virginia Retirement System (VRS) Data Office team is seeking up to two senior-level Power BI/SQL Developers with strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. This role requires close collaboration with Business, IT, and other stakeholders to support the Data Quality Enhancement initiative and other development efforts. The candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Responsibilities: Maintain the confidentiality of all business data and adhere to VRS data security policies . Deliver all tasks within agreed-upon timelines. Provide regular status updates and attend required meetings. Develop, design, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements. Create interactive visualizations, reports, and dashboards to monitor Critical Data Elements . Optimize reports and advise on best practices in data visualization . Work closely with business stakeholders to translate data needs into actionable reports. Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for data retrieval and manipulation. Write complex DAX queries to enhance report functionality and performance. Support KPIs and other performance indicators through report development. Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI and SQL tools. Review SQL Queries, Execution Plans, Partitions, and Indexing for performance enhancements. Convert Excel data manipulation activities into automated solutions to reduce processing time. Work on special projects assigned by the Chief Operating Officer or Data Officer .
