Gain Hands-On Experience as a Pharmacy Intern at DirectRx Pharmacy!

At DirectRx Pharmacy, a closed-door specialty pharmacy, we provide interns with valuable exposure to clinical and operational pharmacy practices. This role is designed to help develop essential skills while working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

About the Position:

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support our pharmacy team in delivering high-quality care. You'll gain hands-on experience in medication therapy management, prior authorization processes, patient communication, and more. This position is an excellent opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting while preparing for your future career as a pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize the MTM Outcomes platform to conduct medication reviews and provide therapy recommendations based on the patient’s condition.
• Contact patients upon initiation of therapy to provide counseling on common side effects, proper administration, adherence, and frequency of use—under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Assist with prior authorization submissions and track them through completion.
• Communicate with physician offices for prescription clarifications and necessary updates.
• Monitor and respond to patient inquiries regarding their medications through multiple communication channels. Prepare patient work-ups and retrieve relevant patient and lab data.
• Support special projects assigned by the Clinical Pharmacist and VP of Clinical Services.

Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited professional pharmacy program OR have completed the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) certification program administered by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).
• Must possess a valid Pharmacy Intern license.
