Our urgent care is seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in both clinical and administrative tasks, with a compassionate and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities:

• Perform clinical duties including drawing blood, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, capturing X-rays, and processing lab samples.
• Coordinate preoperative clearances with outside surgeon offices and manage workers' compensation cases.
• Prepare and organize charts for patients, identifying current medications, allergies and conditions.
• Conduct follow-ups with patients to ensure continuity of care.
• Cross-train with front desk staff to assist with patient check-ins, answering phones, and scheduling.
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health records and Google Drive/Docs.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in an urgent care or similar healthcare setting.
• BXMO certification is required or must be obtained within 45 of hire.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy, vitals, and assisting with medical procedures.
• Strong communication skills with a welcoming, compassionate, and professional demeanor.
• Highly organized, punctual, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Technologically savvy with proficiency in Google Docs, Drive, and general office software.
• Ability to think critically and solve problems independently.
• Relevant certifications are encouraged, including phlebotomy, X-ray, and medical assistant credentials.
