Laser Technicians are to maintain a professional relationship with all physicians, hospital staff, physicians’ office staff and other personnel both in appearance and behavior. A Technician’s role is to ensure all equipment, accessories and disposables are working and are ready for use before, during and after each surgical procedure. Primary responsibilities include ensuring proper handling of delicate lasers and equipment before, during and after procedures; test firing all equipment and inspecting supplies prior to leaving Quality Assurance; arriving to cases on time and prepared, ensuring safe transport of sterile supplies; providing staff with necessary disposables needed in conjunction with Agiliti Surgical Services equipment; completing necessary arrangements of the O.R. suite prior to surgical procedure by testing and cleaning equipment, ensuring sterilization and proper setup; removing, cleaning, disinfecting and/or sterilizing all Agiliti Surgical Services equipment after surgical procedure; returning equipment clean and in proper order ready to use; bringing defective materials to Quality Assurance attention; processing paperwork timely and accurately; maintaining operational readiness of lasers, instruments, equipment, supplies, and vehicle; attending meetings and in-services; maintaining current CPR and TB certificates and a valid DMV license; performing pick-ups and deliveries; maintaining courteous and professional relationships; maintaining technician status and qualifications; obtaining facility Purchase Orders; closing cases in the scheduling system daily; and other duties as assigned. Qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent, preferred prior medical, EMT, Surgical Technologist, or military experience, valid driver's license with safe driving record, ability to lift up to 80 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds, ability to stand/sit for long periods and perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, crouching, kneeling, and crawling. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include adaptability, computer literacy, conflict resolution, customer service, ethics, interpersonal communication, Microsoft Office, problem solving, self-starter, teamwork, time management, working independently, and written communication. The job is full-time onsite at the Atlanta District/COE location in Norcross, Georgia.
