Overview:

Seeking a Kurdish Linguist to support a social media program in Tampa, FL. The candidate will develop and maintain expertise with designated regional issues and will draw upon publicly available online information resources. They will read, analyze, and draft communications regarding regional and ideological discussions in specified foreign language media environments.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as a natively fluent Kurdish specialist supporting a social media program in Tampa, FL.
• Examines current media statements or postings to support trend analysis and identifies key communicators.
• Demonstrates reading and writing expertise in the assigned language and incorporates custom social media solutions to comprehend online environments and communicate trends effectively.
• Supports operations planning.
• Demonstrates knowledge of online social media and different technologies, as well as documents activities, notes, informative papers, or whitepapers written in English.
• The ability to work nonstandard hours and in on-call status for periods of time will be required.

Qualifications:

• Active in scope Top Secret clearance (T5/SSBI) is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
• Bachelor’s degree in a related business or technical discipline
• Requires 3+ years of related experience, including supervisory experience OR 9+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must be a native Kurdish speaker
• Possess Kurdish language proficiency equivalent to ILR 3 in listening/speaking/reading
• Fluent in modern day Kurmanji and Sorani dialects including common slang

• Deep understanding and familiarity with Kurdish popular culture and current societal and political events and issues
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• OSINT experience.
• Military or Department of Defense experience.

• Must be comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment.
• Some evening, weekend, or shift work will be required.
