What You’ll Do as a Diesel Engine Mechanic: Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel and natural gas engines. Remove, install, disassemble, and recondition Caterpillar power units and generator sets. Conduct system testing, adjustments, and failure analysis. Troubleshoot electronic, hydraulic, and fuel system components. Deliver quality work in a fast‑paced shop environment. Associate’s degree or technical school certificate preferred. Previous mechanic or military experience. Familiarity with Caterpillar power units, generator systems, and fuel systems.
