We are seeking an experienced Engineer with strong leadership capability and managerial skills to lead our New York Plumbing & Fire Protection Department and to support the function enterprise-wide.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Serve as an engineering leader and technical expert with the ability to answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering staff.
- Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by.
- Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects.
- Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff.
- Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors.
- Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally
- Perform department management activities including recruitment, hiring, coaching, and leadership responsibilities
The basic requirements for this position include:
- 10 plus years' experience in plumbing /fire protection design
- Team supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree -mechanical engineering required; PE license preferred
- Solid technical writing skills
- Extensive knowledge of Plumbing codes and NFPA Standards
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment able to work individually or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Sustainable certification programs
- Strong software skills including Revit
