Salary: $17.00 an hour
Schedule: 5/8 (five days/eight hours) work week
Sign-on Bonus: $1,000 ($250 paid after 30 days of employment and $750 after 6 months of employment)
JOB SUMMARY
Sourdough Fuel is a division of Petro Star Inc., a subsidiary of ASRC. It operates six gas stations in the Fairbanks area. These stations contain convenience stores with grocery, merchandise, propane and Hot Stuff Pizza franchises. Sourdough Fuel also operates the Hilltop Truck Stop, a full-service restaurant, grocery store, and fuel station on the Alaskan Haul Road.
Sourdough Fuel is seeking highly motivated individuals for employment in a friendly retail environment. We have jobs available in the food service and retail fuel industry and will cross train successful applicants for both.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)
A cashier is responsible for providing great customer service, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performs cash register operations and safeguarding PSI Sourdough Fuel assets according to established procedures.
Operate cash registers when receiving payment for cash, credit/debit cards or other; issue receipts, and process change/refunds/credits.
Count money in cash drawer at the beginning/end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and has adequate change.
Maintain clean and orderly check out areas and other general cleaning duties such as sweeping/mopping floors, emptying trash cans and other.
Stock shelves with merchandise, and mark prices on shelves and items.
Assist/ensure that customers receive outstanding service by providing friendly environment which includes greeting customers, maintaining outstanding standards, and providing solid product knowledge.
Operate/monitor gas pump dispensers; including dispensing propane safely using established guidelines.
Prepare and serve deli style food and keep deli area clean.
Sort & stock resale merchandise. Work in cold and hot environments within the store.
Pump fuel & propane.
Keep store clean and other related tasks to improve and maintain general appearance of store.
Mop floors, clean counters and kitchen equipment.
If age 19 or older, will legally sell tobacco products.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent.
Cash register experience preferred.
If age 21, will need to participate in and successfully complete the "We Card" program before selling any tobacco products.
Must successfully complete State food handling course.
