The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join their team in Berkley, MI . This is a hands-on role providing critical support to the General Counsel on real estate transactions, including title and survey review, loans, easements, and dispositions. The position offers exposure to diverse legal projects and the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare drafts of documents related to real estate transactions, including loan documents, easements, and construction agreements.
  • Open title on all real estate transactions and communicate critical dates to all parties.
  • Review and prepare documents for real estate and loan closings; coordinate execution and ensure proper filing.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating a library of legal forms and organizing company contracts.
  • Create and manage entities, including filing annual reports and state registrations.
  • Perform legal research as directed by General Counsel.
  • Provide litigation support, including drafting responses to subpoenas and document discovery.
  • Use technical knowledge to evaluate documents and prepare materials related to construction claims.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate.
  • Experience with commercial real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, and leases.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • High level of accuracy and discretion in handling confidential information.
