Additional Information About the Role Alton Memorial Hospital provides a comprehensive range of technologically advanced surgical services in our state-of-the-art facility. Surgeons on our medical staff perform a variety of inpatient and outpatient procedures. They work with a highly skilled and trained team of anesthesiologists, surgical nurses and technologists. Overview Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more. The Operating Room is made up of 7 General rooms, one Cysto room, and one Minor procedure room. Staffed from 0700 till 1700 Monday-Friday with all other hours and days covered with a Call Crew. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Creates and implement staff education and professional development activities and programs that optimize patient outcomes. Responsibilities Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates ongoing educational and professional development activities and programs for clinical and non-clinical areas. Collaborates with staff and representatives of other organizations to develop, present and or evaluate clinically focused training, continuing education and or professional development opportunities. Participates in activities that promote safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Collaborates with leadership to assess the educational needs of the staff and develops appropriate education plan. Participates in professional development and life long learning.
