StanChem has been manufacturing water-based emulsion polymers for the coatings and adhesives industry since 1968. We have been a division of Deltech since October of 2022 which is an SK Capital portfolio company.

• We are expanding and looking to hire a Chemical Engineer to support our East Berlin facility.

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibilities of this role include defining and resolving chronic site manufacturing issues, training Operators to improve safety, quality, and/or efficiency performance, identifying and leading continuous improvement projects, and assisting in the introduction of new products or upgrade of existing ones. This position also supports and deploys best practices and manufacturing standards along with supporting new capital investments and technology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Overall efforts are directed towards improving/maintaining the production process to meet customer requirements for on-time delivery and product quality, minimizing operating costs, and maintaining operational EHS standards. Supports identifying root cause, reports findings, and implements corrective actions.
• Propose and document trial plans, results and data analysis in a timely manner using advanced problem-solving tools such as Six Sigma.
• Works toward establishing statistical process control processes. Identifies areas of variation (raw materials, process, or quality analysis), implements measures to reduce variation, and tracks effectiveness of reduction measures.
• Provide process troubleshooting and technical directions to manufacturing department – may involve interaction outside normal business hours as department runs 24/7.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering

Experience:

• 0-5 years of experience in quality/manufacturing/process engineering
• Previous experience in quality/process engineering function in chemical manufacturing environment a plus
• Continuous improvement background with demonstrated experience in problem solving and root cause analysis
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification (preferred)
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task
