Get to Know Your Team:  

• BSA Hospital is a 445-bed hospital serving the Amarillo area for over 120 years and continues to be Amarillo’s preferred healthcare provider. At BSA, the focus is to provide quality healthcare in Christian love, service and dignity.

• Accountable to assist the RN and surgeon in preparing for surgical procedures, assist in surgical procedures, and prepare for the next case.
• The scrub technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
• He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
• He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Job Requirements:

• Current Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting

  (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support Certification

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Previous ORT/CST experience

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
