The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the Nurse Manager in overseeing the daily operations, staffing, and clinical services of a nursing unit in an acute care hospital. This role involves leadership, policy interpretation, and maintaining clinical competence to ensure high-quality patient care. The position requires a BSN or Bachelor's in Nursing, a Texas RN license, and preferred experience in charge nurse roles and leadership.

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is responsible for assisting the nurse manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit. In collaboration with the nurse manager, assumes 24/7 responsibility for the management and staffing of the unit. The ANM manages and coordinates the unit, directs and supervises functions and activities, interprets policies/procedures/protocols, standards, and regulations as appropriate. The scope of responsibility spans all aspects of nursing care. The ANM maintains clinical competence and certifications to assist the unit when required.
