Job Overview:

The accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely journalizing of general ledger entries. Reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheet. Assist in preparation of financial and operating reports.

Reports to:

Chief Financial Officer

Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare accounting entries and accruals for financial statements on a daily, weekly or monthly basis as well as multiple business units
• Coordinate cash deposits between operations and capital campaign and ensure deposits are made daily
• Process Employee Expense Reports and Corporate Card Statements
• Recording of Daily Sales from software system
• Complete balance sheet account reconciliations and bank account reconciliations by established due dates
• Coordinate and control fixed asset/equipment purchases for multiple companies. Monitor monthly capital expenditures and record all activity in the fixed asset records. Calculate yearly depreciation expenses.
• Assist in monthly preparation of financial and operating statements with variance analysis
• Assist in the development of budgets, forecasts and variance reports as required by CFO
• Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates’ or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of Accounting or other accounting experience required
• Knowledge of accounting standards, conventions and principles is a must, and so is good mathematical and number crunching skills.
• You should be able to manage daily accounts with the help of accounting software available
• Presence of mind, analytical thinking, logical thinking and multi-tasking abilities 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Organized and detail orientated
• Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
• Ability to multitask and work well while meeting deadlines
• Accounting software experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize Microsoft applications, intermediate excel skills required.
• Attention to detail and follow through on all action items
• Must be able to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment, and ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
