There has been a lot of conjecture about who will face UFC World Bantamweight Champion T.J. Dillashaw since finding out that Dominick Cruz is out with another ACL tear on his right knee and with #4 ranked fighter Raphael Assuncao getting bittten by the injury bug, as well. Assuncao broke his ankle while training and won’t be able to get his shot at Dillashaw.
A lot of people are saying that Urijah Faber should get the next shot at Dillashaw but I really doubt that will happen. Not only do Dillashaw and Faber train together, they are also like brothers and no matter how much Dana White and the UFC pressure them to fight each other there is no amount of money or titles that will get them to do that. As much as I and all the fight fans want to see a teammate vs. teammate fight we won’t see it happen here.
A few people think that Renan Barao should get the title shot next. Yes, the former champ came back this past Saturday and looked very good in his return, but even Dana White has said that he should have at least one more fight before he get his rematch. But with the top guys hurt right now and Faber unwilling to fight his friend, who else is left for Dillashaw to fight?
Here’s a question for all you fight fans; Who do you think should fight the champion?
