This past weekend the UFC held UFC 174 in Canada with a lot of good fighters and very little hype behind it. All the fights were top notch except for the heavyweight fight between Brendan Schaub vs. Andrei Arlovski. This was supposed to be Andrei’s big fight back to the UFC but he looked like he was nervous and scared to be back. Schaub didn’t look any better after the fight, either.
I thought that the match was a draw but Andrei won by Split Decision which made Dana White not happy at all. Andrei admitted that he thought his performance was terrible at best. I like a fighter who is honest like that and doesn’t blame anyone but himself. So Andrei gets some respect there. Having said that, the rest of the card was amazing and the main event for the UFC Flyweight World Championship was great, too.
Demetrious Johnson showed us why he is the best Flyweight in the world right now. I can see Johnson going back to the bantamweight division again because he has been clearing out the flyweight division left and right. I think this card was really put together well and we all got what we paid for with the exception of the heavyweight match.
