Super Fight of the Year

05-02-2015, by JP Scarano, Exclusively for TheFightWorld.Com

That’s right fight fans it is time for the Fight of the Year…. A fight that should have happened 5 years ago but we don’t always get what we want. However, we are this Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. We have Floyd “Money” Mayweather taking on Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquaio to unify the WBA, WBC, WBO, and the Ring World Welterweight Championships. But let’s not forget that there are 6 other fights on this card so lets talk about this a bit.

The first fight of the night in the Junior Middleweight division at 154lbs. we have Brad Solomon vs. Adrian Granados in a fight that says “future stars”. The next fight is in the Cruiserweight division at 200lbs. is Andrew Tabiti vs. Brian Holstein .tTat is a number one contender fight and both are looking for the knockout. In another Junior Middleweight fight at 154lbs. is Chris Pearson vs. Said El Harrak who are both new comers to the sport of kings and are looking to make names for themselves. Next up are Jesse Hart vs. Mike Jimenez in the Super Middleweight division at 168lbs. . These fighters are undefeated and fighting for the USBA Middleweight title.

Our next two fights are in the Featherweight division at 126lbs. First up is former Bantamweight and Super Bantamweight Champion Leo Santa Cruz making the jump up in weight. He is taking on Anthony Settoul. This fight screams title shot. The second Featherweight fight and our co-main event of the evening is WBO World Featherweight Champion Vasyl Lomachenko defending his title for the second time against Gamalier Rodriguez. These two men have been waiting for this fight with each other for a while now. Lomachenko has a record of 3-1-0 and is looking to keep his title and unify the belts down the road. But Lomachenko has a tough fight on his hands with Rodriguez who has a record of 25-2-3. So, experience will play a big part in this fight, but don’t forget fight fans that heart and will can play a bigger role here.

Now onto the main event that we all have been waiting for with Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao in the Welterweight division at 147lbs. This has been a fight that all of us have been waiting for and I can’t wait to see what happens. Let’s talk a bit about what might happen, we already know what type of fighters both these men are I would rather talk about what could happen instead.

First up is Mayweather, he has some of the best hands in the Sport of Kings to date. He has a record of 47-0-0 and he is very smart in the ring, as well. I see Mayweather tagging Pacquiao with combos and constantly moving, which is a smart strategy.

Now onto Pacquiao. With his record of 57-5-2, Pacquiao is a power hitter that loves the KO and the TKO. He is a southpaw where Mayweather is an orthodox fighter. We have seen Mayweather have problems in the past with a southpaw fighter. Pacquiao is going to try and take the fight right to Mayweather and not let up at all with strong combos and movement that will keep Mayweather guessing throughout the fight.

If you ask me who will win this fight my head is saying Mayweather and my heart is saying Pacquiao, but I can’t pick. Who do you have winning fight fans ?
