Double header in Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts Tonight

This Saturday night we have a double header in Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts which is going to be great for everyone. This weekend has a champion defending his title in boxing and a number one contender match in the UFC.

Boxing:  Manny ” Pac-Man” Pacquiao is set to face WBO Light Welterweight champion Chris “The King of New York” Algieri in Macao, China on November 22 for WBO world welterweight title. This will be Pacquiao’s first title defense since regaining it from Timothy Bradley back in April of this year. Pacquiao is looking forward to fighting near his home country of the Philippines and wants to keep this winning streak going. It remains clear that hel wants to face Floyd “Money” Mayweather but Pacquiao isn’t looking past Algieri at all. He wants to show he still has what it takes to be a champion boxer.

Chris Algieri is an undefeated fighter with a record of 20-0-0 and a skilled fighter in Martial arts and Kickboxing and won titles in kickboxing in the super welterweight division in boxing he is the WBO light-welterweight champion and wants to add more gold to his growing career. This fight is going to be one that either makes a career or marks the beginning of the end for another. We will have to wait and see tonight to see which it will be.

MMA: Also on Saturday night, the UFC is back in Austin, Texas for Frankie Edgar vs. Cub Swanson in a featherweight match that has number one contender written all over it. Both these fighters are on a really strong winning streak, but with a 6-fight winning streak Swanson is more on fire than Edgar . Swanson’s last fight with Jeremy Stephens is a candidate for Fight of the Year. If he wins, in the eyes of many fighters and fight fans, Swanson is the number one contender and should face the champion next.

But let’s not look past Frankie Edgar because he was fighting in the lightweight division and won the UFC World Lightweight Championship. However, after losing his title and the resulting rematch he made the choice to go down to the featherweight division. There he has shown that he should have been at this weight the whole time. A lot of people think he could make the bantamweight division, but Edgar is happy being at featherweight and plans on becoming the third man in UFC history to be a two-division champion.

Both of these fighters want to get a rematch with Jose Aldo for the title. Lets not forget that there is also another stacked card here that looks like it is going to be showing some future contenders and stars. Who are you going for and what do you think of these fights this weekend?
