Crossover Fights on 5-8-15

05-08-15. By JP Scarano, Exclusively for TheFightWorld.Com

This Friday May 8, 2015 in Robinsonville, Mississippi at the Horseshoe Tunica Resort and Casino, Mixed Martial Arts fans have a chance to witness something they don’t get to see often. That something is crossover promotional fights between RFA and Legacy FC for the AXS TV Superfight World Flyweight Championship. That’s right, fight fans! We are getting what we all want. We will find out who is the baddest up and coming fighters. What makes tonight so amazing is not only do we have the superfight, we have 2 other title fights, as well. Let’s take a closer look at tonight’s fights.

For the vacant Legacy FC World Lightweight Championship we have Mike Bronzoulis vs. Dave Burrow. Both of these men are looking to gain the title and to get noticed by the top 3 promotions. So they can really make a name for themselves here.

Let’s take a closer look at Bronzoulis; with a record of 17-8-1 we all remember him from the Spike TV show, Fight Masters, where he was in the finals but lost to Joe Riggs. He had a hard time with 2 other losses after the Riggs fight. Since then Bronzoulis has broken his losing streak with back-to-back finishes by submission and TKO. He is now looking to add another Legacy FC belt to his collection. Braonzoulis was the Legacy FC World Welterweight Champion before going onto Fight Masters.

Burrow has a record of 13-5-0 and is looking to get his first taste of being a champion with a 5-fight winning streak and is one of the most dangerous submission stylists out there. It will be hard for Bronzoulis to beat Burrow. In Burrow’s last fight he beat WEC/UFC Vet Anthony Njokuani by submission in the 3rd round  and that fight was a really close as Njokuani is a dangerous striker. I see Burrow’s vs. Bronzoulis being a tough, yet great fight.

In the co-main event of the night we will have Luke Sanders vs. Terrion Ware for the RFA World Bantamweight Championship. Sanders is the current RFA World Bantamweight Champion. He won the title back in November of 2014 and is  making his first title defense. He wants to keep his undefeated record going with 9-0-0. Most of his wins were by KO/TKO.  He surely wants to add a superfight title to his record down the road.

Ware is no joke himself with a record of 13-3-0. He is on a 2-fight winning streak and is looking to make it 3 with a title win and hand Sanders his first loss, as well. These men have what it takes to make this the fight of the night which wouldn’t  surprise me at all.

The main event of the night has champion vs. champion fighting for the AXS TV Superfight World Flyweight Championship belt. I am so excited to see a fight like this for MMA because we don’t see them often and when we do it should be talked about. And that is why I am here for you, fans. Lets get into this fight starting off with the RFA World Flyweight Champion Alexandre Pantoja, with a record of 15-2-0 and all of his wins are matched, which means he is a true MMA Fighter and one tough flyweight to beat. Pantoja is on a 8-fight winning streak and looking to keep this streak going and adding another belt to his growing list.

Now onto the Legacy FC World Flyweight Champion Damacio Page who is a WEC/UFC Vet and is looking to make it back to the big show with this win and title belt in hand. Page has a record of 19-9-0, and is one tough fighter who is exciting to watch. When the WEC merged with the UFC, Page got his chance to prove himself there. After 4 losses, the UFC released Page and after his last loss at Bantamweight, Page made the choice to go to the Flyweight division and he has been on a tear since then. Since joining Legacy FC, Page is undefeated and in his last fight in October 2014  he won the Legacy FC title. Both of these men want to win for their promotions and keep it going their way.

As I was finishing this post I found out that this fight isn’t just for the AXS TV Superfight title. This is a title vs title match. That is right fight fans! Page and Pantoja could be walking with not one but three titles on this night.

Who do you fight fans have winning ?
